CONCEPTUAL NYC HIGH-LIMIT GAMING ROOM
SCOPE: Casino Interior Design
SQUARE FOOTAGE: 10,000
YEAR COMPLETED: 2022
At the request of a client, Watts & Dray envisioned a conceptual, rotating members-only gaming room in Midtown NYC. Inspired by the personas of a jewel thief and a casino high-roller, the design leaned into overt opulence. Drawing from the world of high-limit gaming, the 'cheetah' became a leading character in the space, lending it’s form to the playful Cheetah Range above the main bar. With another playful nod the space was envisioned to belong to an infamous jewel thief, doubling as a cache for 'stolen' goods, such as massive Ming vessels and an Agate flooring to add intrigue and whimsy. Housed in a former rotating restaurant, the club's dynamic setting allowed for seamless transitions in energy and palette, offering members an immersive and ever-evolving experience.
