Watts & Dray was tapped by Turnberry to reimagine The Seagate Hotel & Spa - a 157 key, luxury resort in Delray, FL - bringing her into the 2020s with all the touches of a contemporary life, rooted in an old world grandeur. Our work hinged on the building’s Anglo Caribbean architectural forms.

We dug into the history of the Anglo Caribbean style and, in the guestrooms we focused in on the tradition of multi-colored shutters and Dutch textile patterns. The intent was to make the space feel like a beautifully appointed home. The headboards were fashioned to evoke the famous Dutch clock gables and every fabric was selected based on how it felt against our skin. The palette was chosen to evoke comfort and open invitation, with the boldest move saved for the art. The typical Seagate guestroom boasts an average of 15 pieces of contemporary art, produced specifically for the hotel.
